Ventilation (CO2)
iaq-ventilation.gif

Poor ventilation may cause IAQ complaints. The air may feel stuffy. Headaches and odors may occur. MTS can provide carbon dioxide (CO2) checks (or data logging) of occupied building. Carbon dioxide is exhaled by persons and can be an indicator of the amount of ventilation occurring. This test does not work in unoccupied buildings. Rooms with high carbon dioxide levels (>1500-2500 ppm) may have a lack of ventilation (lack of fresh outside air). Occupied rooms with low CO2 (<500 ppm) may be over-ventilated and wasting energy. Quiet data loggers can be left in a building for several days to assess ventilation.
